Story :

A young man works at a suburban bookstore in Hakodate. He spends his nights drinking and drifting with Sachiko, a co-worker he's sleeping with, and Shizuo, his unemployed roommate. | Shô Miyake


Shô Miyake was born on 18 July 1984 in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan. He is a director and writer, known for Two Seasons, Two Strangers (2025), All the Long Nights (2024) and Small, Slow But Steady (2022).

Sho Miyake does not chase dramatic climaxes or heightened emotions. Instead, he watches, patiently and persistently, as friends dance through the night, teenagers wander through forests, and a boxer strikes a heavy bag in solitary rhythm. His films breathe with the texture of lived time, capturing what streams and algorithms cannot: the grain of 16mm film, the hush of a Hakodate summer night, the rustle of leaves in Yamaguchi's woods. This collection gathers three works where body and sensation take center stage, presented in the highest fidelity that only physical media can deliver.
